Test Module 2: Getting a Feel for the Game

Post  Amaymon on Fri Sep 05, 2008 8:28 pm

To allow an opportunity for people unfamiliar with NWN to get a feel for the software as well as allow an opportunity for DMs to get used to running modules, we will be hosting another testing session!

Estimated date/time for launch: Monday, September 8th, 9PM Eastern Standard Time

This module will be simple, relatively short, and unrelated to the Tyrus setting. Expect jokes, ham, camp, and satire :-P In short, a good time.

Role-playing will be enforced. This is not to imply that you have to create an in-depth character. But Role-play is definitely expected. There will be a certain amount of latitude for those who don't maintain an RP atmosphere at first, but continued disregard for RP after repeated warnings will result in a disconnect from the test server as well as a retraction of future testing participation offers for the kicked tester.

Due to the strictly testing-related nature of this module, the party size will be limited to four. Post here to reserve a spot! Sometime Monday I'll PM you with connection information, including server name and password.

Points of note: Events that occur in this tutorial module will -not- be related to T: FotO in any way. This is just an opportunity for players unfamiliar with NWN to play, get a chance to see what can be expected, etc. as well as allow an opportunity for DMs to get used to the DM client.

Those who help in testing will be allowed to use their characters once the campaign launches. Any XP earned will be retained, any weapons found can be kept, etc. This is an excellent opportunity to level a little before launch :-D

Look forward to hearing from you.

Test Module 2 is ready for launch, but launch time has been pushed back to 10PM EST.

This module will be RP-Enforced, so if a player needs to go OOC ((out of character)) or ask a DM a question, please denote the chat with double brackets: ((your message.)) Emotes will be denoted by asterisks or single parenthesis.

Direct connect to the following IP address

192.168.0.10:5121
password: noob

Once again, this module is for testing purposes only. Don't expect it to be perfect. If there are any obvious bugs, please let me know.

Also, don't take it too seriously. :-P The theme is a bit silly.

Once again, this module is for testing purposes only. Don't expect it to be perfect. If there are any obvious bugs, please let me know. Make sure to "examine" all signs, talk to everyone you see, and PLEASE interact with the DM running the module; they're trying to have fun, too :-P

The biggest feedback I'm looking for is whether or not your character settings were saved after server disconnect (you kept XP, items, etc.) Please run a single-player module with the character you played in this Test Module and message me back with confirmation that settings were retained.

Have fun! See ya at ten!

Testing was partially successful... the module itself ran well, but there were some hosting issues. We're working on it.

Thanks go out to everyone who helped out tonight. I appreciate it. :-)
